Newsies: A Story Worth Celebrating

We’re proud to raise the curtain on some incredible recognition - Newsies, our joint production with St Columba’s College, has been honoured by the 2025 Music Theatre Guild of Victoria, receiving multiple commendations and nominations that celebrate the outstanding talent and collaboration behind the show.

Commendations
Performances scoring 75+ from adjudicators earn a Commendation — a mark of excellence. Newsies was commended in five categories:
• Production of the Year
• Musical Direction – Joshua Romeo & James Chappel
• Lead Performer in a Male Presenting Role – Joshua Zanella
• Lead Performer in a Female Presenting Role – Isabell Moschini
• Ensemble – The Ensemble

Nominations
We’re also proud to share that Newsies has been nominated for:

• Choreography – Monique Zammit & Kira Neilson
