Scholarships

Each year, the College makes available scholarships to acknowledge the outstanding academic achievement from our students.

Academic scholarships are available to students entering Years 7 through to 12. All applicants must sit the ACER examination which will be the major criteria for selection. 

The scholarship will cover a percentage of the tuition fee. Students who are already enrolled at the College, as well as external applicants, are eligible to apply. 

The ACER examination is designed to assess skills the student has been developing during their schooling including; writing, ability to interpret and think critically, problem-solving skills, comprehension skills, and reasoning skills. FAQ's

This varies from year to year as it is determined by the calibre of the candidates who sat the test. 

The scholarship will offer a reduction of the tuition fees of up to 50% for the 2027 academic school year. 

Yes, ACER will email all applicants with instructions on how to download their child’s report approximately 4 weeks after the test. 

Applicants will be notified at the end of June if they have been successful or not.

Please make sure you are enrolling your child into the test level for their 2027 school year.

Level 1 = Year 7 or 8 in 2027

Level 2 = Year 9 or 10 in 2027

Level 3 = Year 11 or 12 in 2027

Unfortunately, we will only be holding the exam on the date listed above. If you registered and are then unable to make it, ACER will be able to issue a refund but an admin fee will apply ($30 if before the test date, $60 if after the test date with a medical certificate provided).

Blessed Edmund Rice wanted schools to be open to all people, irrespective of their financial means. St Bernard's College, together with the St Bernard's College Foundation, is therefore committed to offering bursary support for students.

Bursaries

The number of bursaries and the percentage of bursary support offered to students depends on the bursary application, financial application and funds available for that particular year.

Please note that bursaries are only for one year and are reviewed annually based on all circumstances, the bursary will cover a percentage of the academic tuition fee, the assessment process requires the submission of an application for financial assistance, including supporting documentation and final approval for bursary support will be at the absolute discretion of the College, which may require an interview with either the Principal or Business Manager.
