Learning Enhancement Teacher

The College is seeking a suitably qualified Learning Enhancement Teacher on an ongoing basis with proven experience to join our Learning Enhancement and Diversity team on an ongoing basis. The successful candidate will be an effective inclusive education teacher who can develop evidence-based individualised support plans based on assessed needs. They will also consult with and coach teachers and support staff in implementing learning enhancement approaches.

The main responsibilities of the role include:

1. Evidence-based Planning:

  • Develop learning profiles, plan and implement evidence-informed teaching.
  • Develop plans, programs, reports and letters in line with NCCD guidelines.

2. Using data to implement and differentiate:

  • Use school-level data to implement effective interventions that optimise learning and promote inclusive education.
  • Assess and review students identified with learning difficulties.
  • Develop and deliver differentiated and structured curricula for students with additional needs.

3. Consulting and coaching:

  • Provide direction, assistance and coaching to mainstream teachers whose students with additional needs require reasonable adjustments that match their ILP.

4. Stakeholder voice:

  • Encourage students to be partners in their own learning by developing ‘student voice’.

The successful applicant will have the following knowledge and experience:

  • Previous learning support teaching experience and VIT registration.
  • Experience assessing and reviewing students with identified learning difficulties. 
  • An ability to write plans, programs, reports and letters at a sophisticated level using a range of evidence.
  • An ability to develop and deliver differentiated curricula for students with additional needs.
  • Experience working collaboratively within education support teams, and alongside mainstream staff in implementing learning enhancement approaches.

A Masters level or currently studying towards a qualification in Learning Support, Special Needs, Intervention, Inclusion or Exceptionality would be highly regarded.
